Bill Clinton Vanity Fair - Anger and S*xual Misconduct

The Vanity Fair article on Bill Clinton rips into the former President in a scathing article that outlines his growing anger and his sexual misconduct and sexual exploits while on the road campaigning for his wife. The article by Todd S. Purdum claims that Bill Clinton’s sexual exploits and anger problems are worsening since he left the Whitehouse, and have negatively affected his wife’s run for office as a result. The Vanity Fair article is more about Bill than it is about Hillary though, and it is a fascinating read, but I must warn you that there is some explicit and vulgar language throughout (anytime one discusses Bill’s extracurricular activities, there inevitably will be some folks who were close to the former President who will use explicit language to describe what they know about Bill).

What was Bill’s response to the Vanity Fair article? I’ll give you 3 guesses- as long as they include the words ‘anger’ and ‘denial’. And interesting side note here- The Clinton camp didn’t refute the allegations nor did they defend themselves with any credible evidences- all they did was try to brush the issue aside by pointing out that Vanity Fair didn’t highlight any of Clinton’s ‘good works’ since leaving the white house. The Clinton camp is trying to brush the article aside as being filled with unsubstantiated ‘quotes’, but the fact is that Todd S. Purdum has been covering the Clintons for 16 years now.

The Vanity Fair report by Todd S. Purdum discusses the “the media blowups that have bruised his wife’s campaign, to the private-jetting around with a skirt-chasing, scandal-tinged posse.” Former aids talk about the company Bill is keeping while on the road, and suggesting that the crowd Bill prefers to hang with are less than reputable.

Todd talks at length about the highly controversial Presidential assistant, Doug Band. You’ll want to read about it on Vanity Fair.
Todd S. Purdum also goes into detail outlining how he met Bill, how Clinton acted not only around him, but also around various different groups of people, and how Bill apparently divided his time between those he thought would be most useful to him, while ignoring those who he felt weren’t ‘relevant’ enough I guess. Todd spoke with many former Clinton aids and personnel to gather his story, and found out quickly that Clinton’s life was guarded by his legendary stonewalling. He did find out that Clinton left the Whitehouse 12 million dollars in debt, and his extravagant lifestyle since leaving have racked up huge bills. Clinton has since been making $150,000 to $250,000 dollar speeches across the globe.

The Clintons recently released their income tax records for the years since he left the Whitehouse, and the total amounts to a staggering $109 million dollars.
Todd brings up a good point inthat Bill Clinton has been forgiven what he calls colossal egotism and “acts of extraordinary selfishness” because he knows how to play the ‘I’m doing for the little guy’ card, and Betsy White deftly accuses Bill of Betsey Wright character accuses the Bill’s character of “always skating by on charm and talent and need.”

Bill got away with practically everything because he never took grown-up responsibility for any of his actions according to Todd. I think Todd has insightfully nailed Bill’s character with this one line.
Excerpt: “But for a politician with so many admirers, allies, acquaintances, faithful retainers, and hangers-on, Clinton remains a profoundly solitary man, associates say, without any real peers, intellectual equals, or genuine friends with whom he can share the sweetest things in life. (The one who has always come closest, for better and worse, for richer and poorer, is simply too busy these days.)”

Todd tells about how 4 former Clinton assistants heard so many stories about Clinton allegedly being a little too friendly with women on the campaign trail, that they tried to ‘intervene’, apparently to try to stave off accusations by the media I’m guessing. Todd also spoke with ‘dozens’ of current and onetime Clinton aides to paint a portrait of what Todd calls a ‘cavernous narcissism’ that has taken shape in Bill over the years since he left office.

Todd really does a bang up job in his article on Clinton, revealing a side we rarely get to see in the media. Whether all of it is true or not remains to be seen as Clinton is angrily denying some of the allegations, but aids and assistants are all fairly consistent when describing Bill.
