The highly anticipated iPhone OS 3.0 is finally here. The 3.0 OS update will cost nothing for current iPhone owners and $10 for iPod Touch owners. With the release comes some problems that have been fixed and some extra features that people have been asking for, such as copy and paste.

The goods

You can now download the iPhone OS 3.0 update from the iTunes store. It became available at 10:10 A.M. and comes with a universal landscape mode and multimedia messaging. There is no support for MMS or text messaging right now. It will be available near the end of summer and currently, there is no explanation as to why Apple has not supported MMS yet.

Using bluetooth or the USB cord, apps can recognize and connect with other devices. The update also comes with a wider range of support for bluetooth. A couple more things is that the iPhone 3.0 OS now let’s you compose messages or text in the landscape mode and a global search feature.

Inside my brain

Keeping customers happy is a number one goal that many companies should aim for and Apple is doing that with the iPhone’s 3.0 OS. Apple doesn’t look afraid of the competition out there and isn’t falling for the hype of other cell phones coming on to the market, such as the Palm Pre.

By providing good customer service, that’s mostly what someone could ask for, right? It’s good that they have things like features and functionalities for a better user experience in mind. It’s just that Apple needs to allow for different carriers to have their iPhones! Let them play with the prices and let them get people to compete over which carrier is better. Competition for the iPhone between carriers could probably bring in more sales.

Scattered reports of iPhone OS 3.0 update problems

While the majority of commenters on CNET and around the Web are reporting success in downloading iPhone OS 3.0 Wednesday, there were scattered reports of problems.

My colleague Stephen Shankland, a CNET News reporter, tried several times to download the OS update around 12 p.m. Pacific to his iPhone and received the same error message, pictured above, each time.

A handful of CNET commenters reported problems accessing iTunes. "I see that the upgrade is now available, but four times the message I get after a couple of minutes is that the download has 'timed out,'" said one reader, and another reported, "Same issue here, cannot connect to the iTunes store to activate so the phone won't work."

A quick perusal of Twitter showed a smattering of people with the same issue.

This, of course, is a repeat of what happened last year, when Apple's iTunes servers couldn't withstand the barrage of traffic when customers tried to update to iPhone 2.0 software at the same time new iPhone 3G buyers were attempting to activate their phones.

Anyone else having problems with the update today?

Update 12:45 p.m. PDT: Reader Michael Samstag wrote in to say his iPhone was rendered unusable when he tried to install the update. "It has the 'connect to iTunes' message and will only allow emergency calls," he says. "I signed up for the 'Apple callback' for tech support and they called back and put me on hold for 20-minutes. Then the call got disconnected and now the earliest callback time is between 6:15 p.m. EDT and 6:30 p.m. EDT. So, I'm looking at having no cell for a minimum of three hours, probably longer."

Leaked photos of Megan Fox were released to the tabloids a couple of days ago and it is rumored to be on the web in no time. The photos were actually from her upcoming movie, “Jennifer’s Body” in which she has a few semi-n*de scenes.

Unlike most celebrities, Megan Fox decided she wouldn’t sue the person behind the leaking of topless photos. In a statement Fox said, “I had booby stickers on. If I’d been actually topless, I would have sued someone… I know who, and I never did anything about it. It’s her karma to deal with, not mine.”

I’m always a little weary about situations like these. For some reason I think they are all part of the marketing plan to get us talking about the movie before it comes out. It’s almost like what they did with Christian Bale and his whole fiasco.

How technology has changed the way thing are. Today, it is easy to "leak" things out for the world to see, what with the power of the internet. Megan Fox has become the latest victim of leaking. Her topless photos were leaked into the internet by some guy who probably has nothing more daring to do. But the actress is not suing the person behind Megan Fox Leaked Photos, "She believes that karma will do the job for her. The ‘Transformers’ star was stunned to see her topless photos from her upcoming film Jennifer''s Body online - and immediately considered taking legal action."

Megan Fox’s “Leaked Photos” Not What They Look Like?

Apparently, Megan Fox “n*de” photos have been leaked onto the internet from her new movie Jennifer’s Body. The thing about the photos is that she is not naked. The photos supposedly show the Transformers star getting out of a lake wearing n*de-color undergarments.

Fox comments on the photos, “I had booby stickers on. They make these silicone stickers that go on over your nipple.”

Is all this hype over nothing? Fox was going to immediately take legal action but then decided against it, saying that karma will take care of it for her, and plus, she wasn’t really n@ked.

If she had actually been topless, Fox says, “I would have sued someone… I know who, and I never did anything about it. It’s her karma to deal with, not mine.”

In other news, Megan Fox has also being featured on the next cover of Entertainment Weekly, where she is dubbed the “next Angelina Jolie”. She despises the title and tells the magazine that she “is not the next anyone”. She comments furthur, saying, “I’m sure she has no idea who I am. But if I were her, I’d be like, ‘Who the f**k is this little bullsh*t brat who was in Transformers that’s going to be the next me?’ I don’t want to meet her. I’d be embarrassed.”

If Megan Fox realized just how easily she can stir up the media, she might just be surprised… or not.

Barack Obama's 'fist bump of hope' ???

Barack and Michelle Obama show that you don't have to be a teenager or and athlete to look cool while executing a fist bump.

Barack Obama - continuing his campaign of politics as unusual - offered a hip alternative to scripted displays of affection by political couples by giving wife, Michelle, a hug, kiss - and quick fist bump.

It was short, but sweet.

"Fist bump of hope!" wrote one Internet poster about the couple's hand-to-hand show of solidarity.

Obama told NBC's Brian Williams Wednesday night he is proud of that magical moment.

"It captures what I love about my wife, which is that there is a reverence about her and a sense that for all the hoopla that I'm her husband and sometimes we'll do silly things.

"She's proud of me and she gives me some credit once in a while, but I actually pull some things off."

The affectionate 11-second exchange before Obama claimed victory as the Democratic presidential nominee Tuesday emphasized Obama's youth and ability to transcend the stereotyped political gestures of campaigns past, experts said.

"I would imagine to a young voter, this was another sign that these people are one of us," said psychologist Drew Westen, author of "The Political Brain: The Role Of Emotion in Deciding the Fate of the Nation."

"People saw their willingness to display their affection in the way they really do - at home, or in private moments."

It was a great alternative to Al and Tipper Gore's way-too-long nationally televised liplock or Bill and Hillary Clinton, in swimsuits, cavorting on a Virgin Islands beach.

The all-but-certain Democratic nominee for President, before addressing the crowd in Minnesota, shared a moment with his wife of 15 years.

As the couple met on the stage before a raucous crowd, Obama kissed her cheek as they hugged. The two exchanged a few quick words before Michelle raised her right fist, and Obama bumped it with his left.

Michelle Obama then flashed a quick thumbs up and headed offstage, with her husband patting her gently on the lower back as she exited.

"If it's calculated, it's a very good calculation," said Dr. Judy Kuriansky, the well-known psychologist. "America wants to see what's going on in the relationship."

The fist bump, she said, "was very hip, very cool, an 'I'm-with-it' move. It's almost cocky."

When Gore planted a kiss on his wife in 2000 at the Democratic convention, many saw it as merely a opportunistic shot at shedding his wooden image.

And when the Clintons were "caught" dancing during a 1998 vacation in the Virgin Island, critics saw it as calculating - an attempt to deflect attention from the Paula Jones sexual harassment suit.

Westen said the moment shared by the Obamas seemed to rise above such criticism.

"The way you respond to it may depend on partisanship," he said. "I think it was a remarkably genuine and seemingly unscripted moment between the two of them.

"As a married man, it made me smile."
